SailPoint has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Integrated Solutions for Identity Security 2025 Vendor Assessment (doc #US52037224, September 2025) report, recognizing our current capabilities and future strategies! It’s been an eventful year of innovation and growth for SailPoint, and we’re pleased to see that our innovative approach to identity management and security continues to resonate throughout the marketplace.
The IDC MarketScape evaluates the competitive landscape of technology vendors in a specific market, providing a balanced view of both current capabilities and future strategies. IT buyers across nearly every industry turn to trusted advisors like IDC to help them make informed purchasing decisions, and IDC MarketScape provides a valuable combination of comprehensive research and graphical illustration of relative vendor positions.
The SailPoint platform and strategy
The IDC MarketScape noted, “SailPoint's Identity Graph marks the company's shift from a traditional identity platform to a broader identity fabric. It connects diverse identity types — workforce, contractors, and machines — with apps and data, enriched by roles, policies, and metadata. Its security fabric adds telemetry from networks and threat sources, enabling shared analytics and coordinated identity security response.”
The report added, “SailPoint's governance roots support the company's move toward AI-driven, policy-centric IAM. Its strong enterprise presence and expanding midmarket reach are bolstered by machine learning investments, enabling autonomous identity capabilities that reduce IT burden and improve risk responsiveness.”
Advancing a unified view of identity
According to the IDC MarketScape, “SailPoint is suited for organizations requiring a unified view of identity data, access controls, and identity risk posture. Its platform supports integration with security operations centers (SOCs), enabling automated threat detection and response for identity-related incidents. This includes capabilities for identity threat intelligence, policy enforcement, and remediation workflows across diverse identity types and environments.”
We’re happy to see our ongoing efforts to guide the industry toward a more comprehensive approach to identity reflected in this report. With AI agents and other new identity types continuing to emerge and expand, the ability to manage and secure all identities in a unified manner is becoming more important with each passing day.
Integration and automation at scale
With the average organization now using more than 100 SaaS applications, secure and streamlined identity and access management capabilities are critical. Our growing library of integrations—and the flexibility to build tailored, custom ones—helps customers simplify complexity and strengthen identity control across their ecosystem.
The need for cloud-first solutions
According to the IDC MarketScape, “More tactically, IDC offers the following advice to enterprise IAM platform buyers: Prioritize cloud-first solutions or vendors continuously investing in migration options from self-hosted solutions: and Cloud-first solutions are quicker to deploy, receive more frequent feature/function updates, and can more easily benefit from intelligence resources.”
Static solutions won’t cut it in the modern threat environment. Working with a partner who can help stay ahead of emerging attack patterns is increasingly essential, and a cloud-first approach provides a significant leg up.
We’re honored by IDC MarketScape’s recognition, and we’d like to thank our employees, investors, partners, and customers, all of whom play an important role in establishing SailPoint as a Leader in Integrated Solutions for Identity Security. Together, we’re shaping the future of identity security—building intelligent, adaptive solutions that protect what matters most.
