The University of Reading
The University of Reading, in England, is an international, public university founded in the late 1800s. The university consists of three academic faculties, a graduate school and the Henley Business School.
Challenge
The University of Reading needed to update their semi-manual identity program. Establishing access for users was inconsistent and took considerable time, so the university was ready to streamline access and create more convenient processes for students, associate (guest) users and staff by building a dynamic and automated identity program.
Solution
- Reduce reliance on legacy and homegrown identity systems
- Improve time-to-access for applications, systems and data, and terminate access immediately following departure
- Create a self-service environment for students and employees to change passwords and maintain personal information
