Certifications, rebuilt: Faster campaigns, sharper reviews, cleaner audits
If you've run access certifications at scale, you know the pain. Generating a multi-million record campaign has to wait until a Friday... just to see if it's done by Monday. Reviewers staring down thousands of line items, clicking "approve" to clear the backlog. Admins wrestling with a setup process that can feel disjointed. None of it makes your organization more secure. It just adds unnecessary friction to an already challenging process.
At Navigate 2026, we're introducing the next generation Certifications engine, a full re-platforming built for the scale, speed, and precision that modern compliance demands. It turns certifications at scale from a recurring fire drill into something closer to a controlled, repeatable process.
Built for SaaS scale
When you're governing tens of thousands of identities and millions of access items, the workaround is always the same: break the campaign into pieces and manage each one separately or generate a large campaign and wait days for it to finish generating.
With SailPoint, campaigns can support multi-million access review items, and generation that used to take days now completes in minutes. You run the campaign you actually need to run, in one pass, without carving it up to keep things moving. For teams supporting hybrid environments and constant organizational change, that's hours of manual coordination you get back every cycle.
A streamlined admin experience
Setting up campaigns shouldn't require a decoder ring. We've centralized the whole thing into a single, guided configuration flow, so creating any campaign type follows one consistent path. In addition to that guided setup flow, we’ve also introduced several new features:
- Access Owner Certifications: Route reviews directly to the person who owns a role, access profile, or entitlement, the one most likely to know whether the access is appropriate. Less ambiguity, better decisions.
- Generate and Start: Configure a campaign to launch the moment it's generated, so you're not babysitting a manual step between setup and kickoff.
- Updated admin UI: A refreshed, accessible, responsive interface that's easier to navigate and manage day to day.
Pair that with Enriched Campaign Filtering, and scoping gets genuinely precise. You can build criteria using rich access model metadata, including custom attributes. No record limits, no waiting on data that's up to a day stale. You pull in exactly the right identities and the right access, and nothing else. That's how you keep campaigns minimally scoped and defensible at the same time.
A reviewer experience that fights fatigue
The biggest hidden risk in certifications isn't the technology, it's the rubber stamp. When reviewers are buried, they click through, and weak reviews pass real risk right along. Industry research backs this up: about 30% of organizations name reviewer fatigue as a top security threat*.
Improved filtering and sorting on key columns means reviewers can group and act on access in bulk, for example, surfacing inactive users and revoking their access in one move instead of one click at a time. Improved search, including "contains" matching on names, means finding what you need takes seconds, not scrolling. Reviewers wrap campaigns in a fraction of the time, and the decisions they make are sharper because the context is right in front of them.
For regulated industries, we've added GxP Reauthentication. Before a reviewer signs off on a campaign, you can require them to re-authenticate, giving you the cryptographic sign-off that audit-heavy environments in life sciences, finance, and healthcare depend on. Fewer audit findings, less regulatory exposure, cleaner evidence.
The outcome
Less time lost to admin overhead. Faster campaign completion. Reviews that catch real risk instead of clearing a queue. And audit readiness that's built into the process rather than assembled under pressure. That's what continuous, provable compliance actually looks like, and it's what the next generation Certifications engine delivers.
