SailPoint was thrilled to be a Platinum sponsor at this year’s Oktane19 event. As one of our most strategic technology partners, it was exciting to meet and talk with so many Okta customers, partners and employees to discuss the benefits of our integrated access management and identity governance solutions.
One of the main themes of this year’s Oktane event was around the importance of Trust – spanning the user, the employer, the data, and the device. Trust is paramount as every organization becomes a technology company modernizing their businesses, prioritizing security, and transforming the customer experience with identity.
Identity is a critical aspect of trust. It was exciting to see the consistency of the Oktane event messages with SailPoint’s focus of addressing the Next Identity Frontier. Identity must evolve as organizations look to stay ahead of these challenges and threats as the new normal. As such, Identity is at the forefront of digital transformation; and is the connective tissue that helps to address today’s concerns of organizational security, efficiency and compliance.
The Power of the SailPoint – Okta Partnership
With all of today’s threats and disparate systems, having strong technology alignment with best-in-breed cybersecurity solutions is more important than ever. This is why the SailPoint and Okta strategic partnership is so exciting. It brings the two respective leaders in identity governance and access management together, empowering organizations with a proven and integrated identity solution.
My favorite part of Oktane19 – other than of course speaking with Okta and SailPoint customers and partners, was our breakout session by Fiona Cullen from Orora Group, a global packaging and visual communication organization. Fiona discussed Orora’s identity journey and some of the key challenges she addressed including the management of 9000+ identities across 600 different systems without knowing who had access to what. Orora also dealt with over 4000 calls per year to the Service Desk for password resets. Fiona discussed how they are moving forward with the combination of SailPoint and Okta and how identity will now build a strong foundation for their new technology landscape enabling increased user efficiency (reducing costs and resources), increased visibility of users (improving security) and no longer having to pay software license costs for users who have left the company (saving money).
SailPoint was also thrilled and honored during the event’s Partner Day to receive the Okta “Integrity” Award. This is just another example of how closely our companies are aligned. Integrity is also one of SailPoint’s core values.
One question that we were continually asked during the event was, “What is the benefit of the combined SailPoint and Okta solution?” I always like to explain how together we are two sides of the same coin. Collectively, we enable a secure and compliant solution providing the convenience of unified access and single sign-on with the needed control of identity governance ensuring the user access and activity is documented and compliant.
If you didn’t have the opportunity to talk with us at this year’s Oktane event, don’t worry, you can still see how the combined solutions are truly integrated with the Power of Identity² demo; or better yet, come to SailPoint’s Navigate Conference and experience how to put identity at the center of your organization.
