Identity Day in Boston

On a summer-like spring day in the historic city of Boston, the first of many SailPoint Horizons of Identity Security workshops took place. Over the next few months, more workshops are scheduled across North America and EMEA. The Horizons of Identity Security workshops are designed to be informative, interactive sessions where SailPoint security experts help attendees identify gaps in their identity security program and explain the 5 horizons of identity security.  

The half-day Boston event, sponsored by SailPoint partner, PwC, saw security executives and practitioners gather to learn about the level of maturity in their identity security program and how moving up the maturity horizons can deliver value to the business. Solution engineers walked the audience through the path to identity security maturity, including integration, visibility, identity lifecycle automation, and how advanced artificial intelligence plays a critical role in a successful identity security program.   

Presentation themes included: 

• Identifying the outcomes worthy of investment by first getting to know your environment and deciding what you care most about,  
• How to ‘take it step-by-step’ (e.g., be iterative) and not try to do everything simultaneously.  
• Choosing a transformation path best suited to your organization.  
• How to optimize engagement by bringing the business with you, with buy-in from the top down. This enables each department throughout the organization to get fully on board with the resulting initiatives.  

Along with an interesting Q&A session with PwC and a SailPoint solution consultant, the attendees enjoyed a discussion with a local SailPoint customer who shared insights and the success of their enterprise’s identity journey. Attendees also had the opportunity to take the identity security maturity assessment and compare results with their peers. Not surprisingly, the results from the audience tracked closely to the report’s findings.
