iD.gov: RSVP Yes

We are inching closer and closer to our second annual iD.gov event coming up in two weeks. In case you missed it, this free-to-attend event will be held in Washington D.C. on December 11th. Join us to hear from government experts on how to manage and protect your sensitive business applications and data from outside threats.

Sean Sell, Identity, Credential and Access Management Director, NIST

Sean has a 22-year history of improving and delivering new technology solutions with the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In the 2000s, Mr. Sell became involved in Identity Management at NIST where he lead the modernization of NIST Associate Information System (NAIS) which processes and tracks all non-NIST employees with physical or logical access to NIST’s facilities or infrastructure. He implemented the NIST Identity and Access Management system at NIST and in 2016 was made the Chief of the Identity and Access Management Division. In 2018, the IDAM Division was merged with the Application Systems Division when Mr. Sell assumed the role of ASD Division Chief. Mr. Sell is a proponent of shared services and works actively with Department of Commerce groups on CDM and DOC wide identity management initiatives.

Chris Carpenter, Identity and Access Manager for the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms

Chris has worked at the Senate since 2014. Recognizing the need for a formal IAM program, in 2016 Chris was directed to start the IAM program.  Before working at the Senate, Chris retired from the Marine Corps. His final tours included working as the Identity and Access Management project officer for Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services and serving as Director of the Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Leadership courses.
