Latest release allows identity governance to be extended as a shared service across global enterprise infrastructures

AMSTERDAM, October 18, 2017 – From Navigate ’17, SailPoint, the leader in enterprise identity management, today announced several enhancements to its open identity platform, designed to further enable identity to be woven throughout the IT operations and security fabric of global organizations. Now, critical identity governance processes, such as separation-of-duty policies and access request approvals, can be leveraged as a shared service within solutions that help support an identity-aware ecosystem. This accelerates the time it takes to get visibility into and control over crucial resources, while also enabling a unified approach to identity governance that shares identity context across all IT and security investments. With an identity-aware IT ecosystem, customers are better prepared to mitigate, identify and contain data breaches.

The latest iteration of SailPoint’s IdentityIQ, which is now available, allows identity governance to be extended as a shared service across global enterprise infrastructures. Key to this is newly expanded open identity platform capabilities that are inherent in IdentityIQ version 7.2. With these new and expanded APIs, critical identity governance processes can easily be shared or invoked from both proprietary and legacy IT solutions. This is crucial to enabling the enterprise to weave identity throughout its infrastructure while leveraging existing investments.

“Today’s modern IT environment is dispersed across old, new, and proprietary solutions, making for a very complex and disparate ecosystem to manage and govern. With our open approach to identity governance, SailPoint’s goal is to help organizations embed identity context across their entire IT and security infrastructure,” said Rick Weinberg, senior director of product management for SailPoint. “In addition, the new open multi-factor authentication integration framework builds on other recent investments made to SailPoint’s open identity platform to extend identity to privileged account management, access management solutions and now to multi-factor authentication solutions, expanding the identity governance footprint across more IT and security investments. This gives enterprises greater visibility and control over ‘who has access to what’ while improving compliance by ensuring user access is within corporate policies.”

Also new in SailPoint’s IdentityIQ version 7.2 include:

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) integration framework: This gives enterprises advanced security and authentication controls using an organization’s preferred MFA solution provider. MFA vendors who have certified their solutions for use with this new framework include Duo, RSA and Microsoft. By advancing the open identity platform to include multi-factor authentication, SailPoint IdentityIQ customers have another layer of interconnectivity needed to create a secure and seamless identity-aware infrastructure.
  • Globalization of the plug-in framework: The globalized plug-in framework provides localized continuity across custom extensible plug-ins and integrations for an uninterrupted and seamless experience. Ensuring users can easily understand and respond to key governance-related activities is critical for multi-national organizations who want to establish an identity-aware infrastructure.

SailPoint unveiled both IdentityIQ 7.2 and SecurityIQ 5.1 at the identity governance conference, Navigate ’17, in Amsterdam (see related release: New SailPoint SecurityIQTM Release Helps Enterprises Accelerate Compliance with Global Regulations.)
