Recognized Identity & Security Expert Will Advance Technology Leadership

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 28, 2008 – Identity risk management pioneer SailPoint Technologies, Inc. today announced the appointment of Darran Rolls as its chief technology officer. As CTO, Rolls will direct the continued development and communication of SailPoint’s technology strategy and vision.

Rolls joins the SailPoint team with more than 20 years of identity and security software industry experience and a rich history in identity management as a respected contributor to several international XML standards initiatives. Formerly the Chair of the OASIS Provisioning Services Technical Committee, he led a two-year industry effort to develop the Service Provisioning Markup Language (SPML) Specification, now the de facto standard for integrating identity provisioning.

Previously, Rolls was a member of the CTO’s office at Sun Microsystems and led strategic technology and industry standards initiatives at Waveset Technologies. He also served in senior technical leadership positions at enterprise software companies including IBM/Tivoli, PointOne Telecommunications and DBMX.

“Darran is a vital addition to our team at this stage in SailPoint’s growth, bringing a remarkable breadth of experience and knowledge of customer issues and technology,” said SailPoint CEO Mark McClain. “His appreciation for the dynamics that drive market acceptance of new technologies ensure SailPoint will maintain the pace of innovation required to continue leading the market with its identity risk management software.”

Darran tackles the controversial topic concerning the difference in roles for provisioning and roles for compliance and where they can ultimately come together.
