Worldwide Demand Strong for Identity Governance Solutions
AUSTIN, Texas, August 18, 2009 – One year after announcing its market expansion into Europe, SailPoint today announced it has doubled its international partner network and has added leading Global 500 companies to its customer roster. In fact, during the first half of 2009, nearly one-third of SailPoint’s new customers were headquartered in Europe. Additionally, several of the company’s North American customers have extended their SailPoint IdentityIQ™ deployments to manage users and IT resources in international subsidiaries, further expanding the company’s global reach.
“SailPoint IdentityIQ is one of the leading identity governance products, providing strong capabilities in the areas of attestation, auditing and analysis, and role management, and supporting a risk-based approach,” said Martin Kuppinger, a founder of KuppingerCole, a premier European analyst firm focused on identity management, GRC and cloud computing. “In the past year, SailPoint has built a strong partnership and customer base in Europe. The company has proven its ability to deliver tangible results – I fully expect SailPoint to continue expanding its European footprint over the next year.”
SailPoint’s growing customer base in Europe and North America includes five of the world’s largest banks and some of the largest consumer, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing and telecom companies. One of Continental Europe’s largest banks recently selected SailPoint IdentityIQ to streamline its user access request process and better address security and compliance requirements. Additional major European-based customer successes achieved in the last year include:
- One of the world’s largest financial institutions using SailPoint to conduct automated access certifications across 87 applications and 145,000 users. The initial implementation was completed in less than 90 days via SailPoint’s managed hosting deployment option.
- A Global 50 company is using SailPoint to aggregate identity data for more than 200,000 active employees and contractors accessing thousands of enterprise applications. The organization is currently managing and certifying more than 10 million user entitlements with IdentityIQ.
Last year SailPoint established key partnerships in Germany and the United Kingdom. Since then, it has expanded its European partner network with new sales and implementation partners in France, Benelux (Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) and the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). The company expects to announce additional European partnerships in the coming year. SailPoint’s European partners are actively engaged in deploying its Identity Risk Assessment offering, a 30-day service that provides clients with a consolidated view of user access across the enterprise and enables organizations to highlight areas of identity risk for increased scrutiny.
“European companies are focused on minimizing security and privacy concerns while increasingly paying closer attention to their compliance processes, so there is a sense of urgency for identity governance solutions like SailPoint IdentityIQ,” said Adam McElroy, director of Identity and Access Management for Vistorm, an EDS company. “By partnering with SailPoint, we can help customers address these challenges in a matter of weeks, particularly now that we are reselling SailPoint’s Identity Risk Assessment offering. The Identity Risk Assessment offering gives customers an immediate sense of relief because they can inventory their most sensitive identity data and identify critical vulnerabilities in as little as one month. This puts them on a path to ensure the security, privacy and compliance of their critical and sensitive business applications and data.”
In collaboration with its partners, SailPoint has increased its marketing presence in Europe through participation in the region’s leading identity and security conferences and events held during 2009, including the Gartner Identity and Access Management Summit held in London, the Kuppinger Cole European Identity Conference held in Munich, and the Atheos Rencontres de l’Identity & Access Management (RIAM) event held in St. Tropez, France. In addition, SailPoint will deliver a keynote presentation and exhibit with its partner Adinsec at the IDENTITY 2009 conference in The Hague, Netherlands in October 2009.
SailPoint’s award-winning identity governance software, SailPoint IdentityIQ™, helps organizations gain control over user access to critical systems and data, streamline costly IT compliance processes and reduce the risks of fraud, corporate data loss or theft and failed audits.
