Company Recognized as an InformationWeek’s Startup 50; Wins Identity Governance Customer Trust Award
Austin, Texas, April 27, 2009 – Driven by increased market demand for identity governance solutions, SailPoint announced today it has continued to grow rapidly through the first quarter of 2009, adding several new customers, including a Fortune 25 company, and extending its customer base into two new vertical markets. SailPoint’s customers now include 10 of the world’s largest 100 companies in industries spanning banking, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and telecommunications. In addition, SailPoint expanded its European partner network with new sales and implementation partners in France and Denmark.
“Despite the down economy, we continue to see strong market demand for identity governance solutions that help companies address IT risk,” said Kevin Cunningham, SailPoint’s president and founder. “The fact is that the majority of IT organizations don’t have adequate visibility over user access privileges, which puts them at risk of an internal breach or failed IT audit. Companies are navigating through a tumultuous time, and must ensure that proper user access controls are in place to meet compliance requirements and maintain security of their critical business applications.”
In Q1 2009, SailPoint announced the general availability of a suite of new deployment offerings for SailPoint IdentityIQ™, including a virtual appliance, a hosting option and a menu of managed services, to streamline and simplify the process of buying, implementing and managing identity management solutions. During that same time, the company deployed a fully hosted identity governance solution for a global financial services company across 87 compliance-relevant applications and nearly 250,000 managed identities.
SailPoint was recently named to the InformationWeek Startup 50, a list of the top 50 business technology companies. The Startup 50 companies were chosen by end user voting and InformationWeek’s analysis of the company’s ability to address the critical challenges facing the enterprise, including securing networks, cutting costs and streamlining IT operations and business processes. Additionally, Info Security Product Guide named SailPoint IdentityIQ the winner of the 2009 Global Product Excellence award in Identity Governance. This Customer Trust award, also based on end user votes, honors innovation and quality in information security products.
SailPoint IdentityIQ allows organizations to automate the access rights verification and certification process, which is required as part of many IT audits. SailPoint customers have complete visibility into and control over user access privileges, allowing them to manage corporate sea change events such as mergers and acquisitions, reductions in staff and increased use of contract employees without worrying about detrimental consequences if the proper controls are not in place.
