Former CFO of Silicon Labs Will Share His Broad Finance Expertise with Growing Company
AUSTIN, July 18, 2011 – SailPoint today announced the appointment of its first non-investing board member, William (Bill) Bock. As an advisor to SailPoint, Bock will contribute his significant experience in high-growth technology enterprises, both operationally and with the public investment community. Bock has more than 35 years of executive-level management and venture funding experience in the technology industry, including a long history of IPOs. He joins an already strong board of directors consisting of industry leaders including: John Thornton of Austin Ventures, Ravi Mhatre of Lightspeed Ventures, and Bill Wood of Silverton Partners.
“Bill is a great fit for our company due to his broad operational experience in the technology market and considerable history with corporate financial transactions specifically related to IPOs,” said Mark McClain, CEO and cofounder of SailPoint. “He is a seasoned executive and board member who has advised many companies over his extensive career. Bill will bring a valuable perspective to our board, particularly with his public company experience. We look forward to his advice and counsel.”
“SailPoint is pioneering the identity governance market, and has already built a strong foundation of success,” said Bock. “It has a large roster of Global 1000 customers and a very strong track record of growth. I’m eager to join its board of directors to share my experience and help SailPoint accelerate that growth.”
Bock’s extensive experience includes serving as senior vice president of finance and administration and CFO of Silicon Labs for five years. After recently stepping down as CFO from Silicon Labs, Bock resumed a position on the company’s board where he previously served more than six years prior to his management role at the company. Bock also serves as chairman of the board of directors at Convio.
Prior to joining Silicon Laboratories, Bock was a partner at venture capital firms CenterPoint Ventures and Verity Ventures. He has also served as president and CEO of DAZEL Corporation, as executive vice president and COO of Tivoli Systems, which he helped take public in 1995, and as CFO of Convex Computer Corporation, where he successfully managed the company’s IPO.
