It’s About the Journey: Let SailPoint Be Your Identity Chauffeur

In the 1960s, the first autonomous vehicle known as the Stanford Cart launched. After a decade of experimentation, it made its official debut as an autonomous vehicle. The Stanford Cart became one of the earliest and longest-running experiments in self-driving car history.

Why is this story important right now for us? It feels familiar.

Today, we announced several new features in our SailPoint Identity Platform. And like the pioneer of the self-driving vehicle technology that launched a thousand ships, I mean cars, SailPoint follows a similar path of an innovative legacy by providing features that will ultimately lead to an autonomous, self-driving identity.

As organizations embrace the work from anywhere culture worldwide, the ability to secure everything from anywhere has never been more critical than it is right now. Even more important, organizations must have self-driving functionality in their identity programs while still being in the driver’s seat.

What does self-driving identity look like in practice?

It means you have another set of eyes scanning the environment for ways to improve the security, compliance and efficiency of your enterprise-wide IAM program.

It means you can use Role Modeling to proactively and efficiently maintain roles within your organization on a continuous basis by allowing the system to adapt access models to your dynamic workforce, no matter where in the world they work.

It means your users are given Access Recommendations to accelerate the access request process, leveraging intelligent recommendations of what access a user like them should have.

It means having preventive Separation-of-Duties at your fingertips to guide your approvers away from granting non-compliant access.

It means automated Access Expiration policies automatically revoke access according to predetermined time limits and business requirements without having to lift a finger.

It means automating the onboarding and offboarding processes so that access is granted and removed seamlessly without manual intervention, which can introduce risk and slow down the path to productivity.

These are no longer nice-to-haves. Business and IT teams are stretched as HR teams onboard and offboard employees from anywhere in the world. Security threats are at an all-time high. The ability to do all of this while keeping your eyes on the road is an essential business function if you want to keep pace with digital transformation in a work-from-anywhere world.

As you build out your identity program and prepare to secure your business in the years to come, build out the program that will get you to your destination quickly, safely, and securely.

Buckle up. We are just getting started.
