Last week, the SailPoint crew made our way to the Pacific-Northwest for our debut appearance at SecureWorld in Seattle. The event provided us an opportunity to speak with a steady stream of customers and IAM enthusiasts about the state of the market, their challenges, and what to expect in the coming year.
On the first day of the conference, one of SailPoint’s own clients, a major U.S. Healthcare institution, presented a case study focused on how SailPoint IdentityIQ allowed them to have visibility and control across the entire organization in order to better address security and privacy requirements for patient data. They took the audience on their journey of selecting the right IAM vendor and ultimately, how SailPoint’s ability to build an automated, sustainable approach to addressing HIPAA/HITECH compliance issues is what fit the bill. The session also discussed how improving the hospital’s security program with an IAM tool, improved the overall management of employee lifecycle and mitigated insider threats. This topic resonated with the audience, as many attendees shared similar challenges and voiced the growing need to have an IAM solution as the cornerstone of their organizations security programs.
We continued the conversation on day two, where our very own, Terry Cozard, presented on SailPoint’s next generation, governance-based approach to IAM. Our interactive audience saw first-hand how a risk aware solution can deliver process efficiency and data quality effectiveness, turning IAM into a business enabler rather than operational overhead. Thanks to all we met at the show for stopping by our booth to learn more about SailPoint, and share your specific thoughts on the market. See you next year!
