As we’ve talked about before, our SailPoint team has longed believed that the SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) standard is a critical component in addressing IAM in the cloud. This standard connectivity between cloud/SaaS applications will save organizations time and money and allow them to focus above the plumbing layer on the more valuable business issues such as policy enforcement, role management, and appropriate access to SaaS applications based on job function.
It’s imperative that we continue to work alongside other vendors to simplify how enterprises integrate their IAM infrastructure with SaaS applications. To that end, we are participating in the SCIM Interop at the Cloud Identity Summit this week – SailPoint’s fourth SCIM interoperability event. Interoperability events are especially important for companies to test real-world use cases in order to identify and correct any issues with the standard. At this interop session, we will showcase how to utilize SCIM for provisioning and governing access to cloud-based applications like Salesforce and Google. If you are going to be at the Cloud Identity Summit, be sure to stop by the interop event to see SCIM in action.
In addition to the Interop, members of our SailPoint team will be on hand to discuss the ongoing development of SCIM and how IAM must evolve to address new risks presented by the mass adoption of cloud-based applications. Be sure to check out the session, “Avoiding the Pitfalls of Managing IAM for a Hybrid Environment,” featuring our very own Chris Bauserman, director of product marketing at SailPoint. Chris will provide practical advice and pitfalls to avoid for IT organizations looking to manage hybrid IT environments. He will discuss how next-generation IAM strategies can holistically address the security and compliance requirements of mission-critical applications and data that span an enterprise’s data center, cloud, and mobile environments.
See you in Napa!!
