SailU: Launching Next Generation Identity Security Leaders

I’ve been thinking a good deal lately about Leila Janah’s quote: “talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not.” At SAIL, I’ve always been inspired by our organization-wide passion for people. Over the past year, I’ve been particularly excited by the ways SailPoint has broadened the opportunity for more by expanding our commitment to hiring the very best.

We love being a part of all the communities around the world where our SAIL teams live and work – Austin, Pune, London, Paris, Tel Aviv, and our other locations around the globe – but we know that great talent and great potential exist in all corners of the globe. So, we’ve seized the opportunity to reach beyond our traditional office locations by partnering with a targeted list of universities, including HBCUs and LatinX colleges, through our early career program, SailU. Designed for recent college grads and those with non-traditional backgrounds, SailU is part of our long-term strategy to build the next generation of identity leaders.

This year, we onboarded 20 new crew members in the U.S. through the SailU program, with a focus on reaching a more diverse population of candidates as part of our commitment to Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at SailPoint. The first class of SailU will learn from leaders across our business and share their ideas through forums like Innovation Day to pitch new ideas (think Shark Tank® for SailPoint ). We’ll also provide the chance for SailU to help our communities through events and other causes that are important to us all. And we’ll be sure to work in a little fun along the way too. After completing the SailU program, the graduates will join our Engineering, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Sales teams, each on their own journeys with their own unique identities.

We are committed to a rewarding transition into technology for SailU grads and think they are going to make a meaningful addition to SailPoint’s next generation of talent.

Welcome aboard to our new crew! We are so glad you are joining us. I can’t wait for what’s ahead.

Our first SailU class starts this summer. We will continue to provide updates on their journey throughout the year.
