It is important to point out that, unlike previous Magic Quadrant reports for IGA, the 2017 report is focused on the entire identity governance market – independent of delivery model. Previously, Gartner had included cloud-based identity governance with access management tools in a separate report. We believe the requirements of identity governance are fairly consistent, whether it’s delivered on-premises, as a hosted model or via the cloud, and this year’s report provides a true apples-to-apples comparison of all IGA options.
