Governance Platform : Role ModelerRoles simplify management of user access by aligning access privileges to job functions within the organization and by providing business context to lower-level entitlements during compliance and access request processes. In the face of a dynamic business and IT environment, keeping the role model relevant can be a challenge. IdentityIQ combines automated role approvals, role certifications and role analytics to help manage roles over their entire lifecycle. The Role Modeler is a key component of the Governance Platform. It defines the roles that support critical business processes and manages the lifecycle of each role – from creation and modification to approval and, when necessary, retirement. The Role Modeler reduces complexity and simplifies user administration while enforcing "least privileged" access. It allows organizations to request, approve, define policy and certify access using business roles rather than low-level technical entitlements. With a combination of top-down, business-oriented role modeling and bottom-up IT role mining, the Role Modeler enables cross-functional participation in the role-modeling process and makes it easy for both business and technical users to create roles that accurately reflect the organization's business and IT requirements.
