Chris Ostertag joined SailPoint in 2010 to lead the company's sales organization – specifically to help expand its worldwide presence and build its partner network. As the executive responsible for the company's direct and channel revenue growth, he oversees sales representatives and systems engineers around the globe, along with a team of channel managers and partner enablers – all of whom work together to identify and win sales opportunities worldwide. Chris attributes the team's continuing success to a unique combination of sales and systems engineering talent, a solid understanding of enterprise business requirements, a leading identity management solution for today's business needs, and SailPoint's deep experience in the identity management space. Chris believes that customers can capitalize on the lessons that the SailPoint team has learned over the years, from the time identity management first emerged on the technology landscape the late 1990s. Those lessons include the need to see identity management from a business point of view and not just a technology perspective, and the importance of letting a company's unique identity environment drive its identity strategy, rather than trying to impose a pre-conceived solution on every situation. Before joining SailPoint, Chris was senior vice president of worldwide sales at Hyper9, a virtualization company he co-founded that was ultimately acquired by SolarWinds. He brings significant sales leadership to SailPoint, having also held executive sales positions at Credant Technologies, Sun Microsystems, Waveset Technologies and Tivoli Systems. |
